MMuDS Seating, Attendance & Ticketing Policy

General

  • All attendees older than 2 years of age must hold a valid ticket to be admitted to the auditorium. This includes children and infants who must have their own seat. They cannot sit on the lap of a parent or guardian in lieu of a seat. Children younger than 2 years of age may be admitted without a ticket but must be seated on the lap of a parent or guardian.
  • For the safety and security of all patrons the following items must not be taken into the auditorium: prams, strollers, baby capsules if any description. These items can be left with the Front-of-House staff. MMuDS accepts no responsibility for any items left with any staff member.
  • Aisles and stairways must be kept clear at all times.
  • Cameras, audio and video recorders may not be permitted. Please check with Front-of-House staff.
  • If you require special accommodation for wheel chairs, walkers etc please make this known to the Front-of-House staff upon arrival at the venue. This accommodation will be provided at ground level, with the specific location to be advised by venue staff. There is no wheelchair access to higher levels of the venue. With parties requiring accommodation for wheelchairs, every effort will be made to seat the entire party together.

  • MMuDS reserves the right to refuse entry to (or to eject from) the premises any persons adversely effected by alcohol or other drugs.

Latecomers

  • For the comfort and convenience of all patrons, latecomers can only be admitted into the auditorium at a suitable break in the performance. Suitable breaks vary between shows.
  • If a suitable break prior to an interval is identified, latecomers may not be seated in their ticketed seats, rather in an area adjacent to an entrance or another area identified by venue staff, where minimal disruption will be caused to seated patrons. This is at the discretion of venue staff.
  • Ticket refunds or exchanges are not available on the basis of late arrival or non arrival.

Children

  • Most productions are considered to be unsuitable for children under the age of two years. If taking your child under two years of age into the venue, please be aware of the following concerns:
  • Tripping hazards, row spacing, stairs, steps, steep rakes and the lack of light in the auditorium during a performance can be particularly hazardous when carrying an infant within the theatre.
  • Production elements such as loud music, bright lights, pyrotechnic or other stage effects and show content can cause distress to infants.
  • The potential for disturbance to other patrons by crying or restless infants. Please be considerate of other patrons in the venue. If your infant is causing a disturbance, we ask that you temporarily remove the infant from the auditorium.
  • Patrons choosing to visit the venue with children less than two years of age are asked to liaise with the venue's Front-of-House staff on arrival at the venue.
  • As the safety of children, parents and other patrons is of high importance, these concerns are brought to your attention for your consideration so that you and all other patrons can enjoy the show in a safe environment.

Evacuation

In case of an emergency requiring evacuation, please remain calm & follow the direction of the venue staff under the instruction of the Stage Manager. Evacuate in an orderly manner and assemble at the designated assembly area.
